PRESS RELEASE HARRISON TOWNSHIP WATER AUTHORITY

For Immediate Release

Harrison Township Water Authority Lifts Mandatory Water Conservation Order, Normal Operations Resume

Harrison Township Water Authority is pleased to announce the lifting of the mandatory water conservation order, effective immediately. Normal plant operations have resumed.

The conservation order, which was put into effect on April 30, 2025, was necessary due to power outages and damage to power infrastructure caused by the extreme weather event on April 29, 2025. Thanks to the coordination of efforts between our employees; the Harrison Township Commissioners, Management, Public Works, Police and Emergency Personnel; First Energy; and Allegheny County Representatives, the water supply has been restored to a sustainable level. “We appreciate the community’s cooperation and understanding during this challenging time,” said General Manager Nick Colledge. “Their efforts to conserve water have been instrumental in allowing us to return to normal operations. We encourage residents to continue using water responsibly.”

Harrison Township Water Authority continues to be committed to ensuring a reliable and sustainable water supply for all its customers. While the mandatory restrictions have been lifted, residents and businesses are encouraged to maintain water-wise habits.
